What customers say?

“ I had the mild Tom Yum soup with the large flat noodles. The soup was very delicious and hearty. There was just the right mixture of lemon grass and sourness to satisfy a last minute dinner craving. Staff were very friendly and attentive. ”

“ If you like spice, this is your place. Some dishes have their own take, so ask your server. We got thai spicey and while I take spice heat very well, but a lot of these dishes were too spicey for me to taste/enjoy. Green Curry - Stong ginger flavor, blends well with the spice, but not for everyone. Thai Fried Rice - Suggested by the server. Good flavor, well cooked. Pad Kee Mao - Definitely their own take and a bit saucy for us but a fan of the spice and how it was cooked. ”

“ Outstanding fresh Thai and Laotian meals in El Sobrante. After two visits I know that this will be a new go-to restaurant for my wife and me. We tried the trout salad, green curry, crab fried rice, curry noodles, and the mango sticky rice. The vegetables were FRESH, and the coconut milk was flavorful. They adapted the spice to our mild preference without the dishes losing their rich flavors. The menu is large and I can strongly recommend this restaurant even if you don't usually like Thai food. ”

“ I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and they have hands down one of the BEST yellow Thai curries I’ve ever had. The flavor, the spicy level, it’s all around the best. ”

“ How refreshing to be greeted with kindness and good welcome. Wow! A total hidden gem. And the food is very good. Flavorful curry, flavorful everything, served hot. Even the Thai iced tea has something going for it that makes it taste just a little better — and more authentic — than most. It reminds me of my travels to Thailand (someday to Laos), and the generous hospitality and welcoming people that makes that region — and their cuisine — so special and memorable. Totally excellent experience that left me feeling full and happy! My only feedback is that I’d love them to play the music of Laos or Thailand — that would take it over the top for me! :) ”

“ This place in my opinion, is the best local Tai Restaurant. Every plate I have tried has been packed full of flavor and the right amount of heat per dish. The staff is great here, very friendly and very attentive, I have never seen my glass of water empty during lunch. The decor is a unique hybrid of traditional and modern, the seats are comfortable and there is a TV with music videos playing for atmosphere. ( My kids love that. My wife recommends the Khao soi I recommend any of the pan fried noodles like pad ki mao. My kids loved the pad Tai. The chicken satay is good and the curry puffs are a unique explosion of flavor. ”

“ Just want to give this great restaurant another review. It’s been at least 3 years now since we first tried this place. The dishes remained delicious and always consistent with the ingredients, authentic. We celebrated anniversaries and birthdays here too because the staff also very friendly. We always feel at home here. Great service which is very hard to find now. Thank you Maya Thai! ”

“ Coming to Maya Thai Laos is a hit or miss for me. Sometimes it’s hella good and other times the food is too sweet. From the khao piak chicken soup to bbq pork to larb chicken. Honestly when I think of Thai food I want it flavorful and savory not always sweet. I’m a little disappointed again because the food I got here today was all sweet. I will give this place another chance. I will just pass by once in a while. ”
